tamarack

 i think?? that this is a new bit of needles coming out..  they were redish and soft.  it was the only one like it that i noticed though, so that's kinda strange?  mostly there were just the rounder buds. 

a tamarack is a not so evergreen tree..  it loses its needles every year.  it's actually kinda lovely in the fall when the branches turn kinda yellowy..  at least i think so anyway.
